Boys Varsity Basketball · Crowley Clinches Playoff Berth on Senior Night

Friday, February 9th, 2018 Crowley Men’s Basketball team hosted the Everman Bulldogs. It was Crowley’s final home game of the season and it was also Senior Night. Both teams entered the game needing a win to secure a playoff spot as Crowley was only one game ahead of Everman. The Eagle’s jumped out on top early with a 17-12 lead to end the first quarter. However, as expected, the Bulldogs of Everman didn’t quit and eventually reduced the lead to three points going into half time. The 2nd half was a very fast paced, back and forth contest. With big time guard play from Junior Guard Ronnie Sanders who scored a team high 19 points, and Senior Guard Chase Smith who scored 11 second half points, Crowley was able to pull away in the 4th quarter and ultimately get the 61-52 win. The Eagles clinched a playoff spot with the win on Friday, in their first season under new Head Coach Gary Collier. Crowley will take on Burleson Tuesday, Feb. 13th, in the season finale.
